The games, the tricks, the laughter, the taunts, the random beatings of childhood were celebrated in this 1952 3-cent issue. “Domination, mockery and taking advantage of others are all important parts of a boy’s early years,” the U.S. Postmaster General observed. “Without them, we could not separate the weak from the strong, the sissies from the bullies. And the bullies of today are the policy makers, oligarchs and leaders of tomorrow.”
